The legendary rockers outsell Oasis and The Beatles

Queen have topped a poll of the best selling albums ever.

The legendary band’s ‘Greatest Hits’ has sold more than any other album over the last 50 years, according to figures released by the official UK Charts.

The band topped the list with over five million album sales ahead of The Beatles’ classic 1967 album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.

Cementing their place in music history, third place goes to Oasiswith ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’.

Robbie Williams walks away with the accolade of having the most album entries in the Top 100 with six, followed by Oasis and Michael Jackson with three entries.

Blur bassist Alex James will reveal the figures, which were compiled by UK Chart researchers from till receipts dating back to the 1950s, on a special programme entitled ‘Nation’s Favourite Album’ this Saturday (November 18) on VH1 from 6pm.
